Carlos Mawoud is one of the nicest people you will ever meet.
For years, so many of us in Brunswick and across Melbourne have trusted him with our possessions - suits, dresses, prams, handbags, and more - which he proudly takes care of at Eporo Dry Cleaning.
Carlos does not have customers though, "I call them my bigger family" he says. Spend 5 minutes in the store and you know that to be true - he knows each of his customers by name, and sometimes a short line will start growing as he asks about their special events, family, and friends. I am always happy to wait in that line, he has been a kind friend for years.
Tragically, Carlos and his family are dealing with the sudden and unexpected loss of their infant daughter who passed in June 2025. Like many people dealing with tragedy, Carlos is taking on so much in trying to grieve, support his family, arrange a funeral, and continue operating his small business that so many people rely on.
Can you help Carlos in his time of need? Let's support his business into the future, but can you donate now to let him spend more time with his family and lay his daughter to rest without the financial stress of keeping his business running?
Carlos has always been there for the community. During the pandemic, he and his family started a charity offering free meals and a mobile cleaning service for the vulnerable in Melbourne.
Now he needs our help, as his "bigger family".
