Support Carlos and Nuria in their time of Need

This morning, December 22, 2024, at 8:32 am, Carlos Bolaños Rodríguez passed peacefully with his family by his side. Born on June 25, 1955, Carlos lived an extraordinary 69 years, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and service to others.

Carlos suffered a massive stroke while beginning a new mission in the Blue Zone of Costa Rica, in the town of Hojancha, where he and our mother, Nuria, planned to serve the community and share their faith. Among the people they were reaching were the Matambú, one of the last remaining indigenous communities in the region. Carlos and Nuria were committed to supporting their rich cultural heritage and helping them thrive.

Following his stroke, Carlos was medivaced to San José and intubated for life-saving measures in hopes of saving his life. Despite the best efforts of his medical team, God called him home.

Carlos’s purpose in life was to serve others. As a teacher, pastor, husband, father, and friend, his life was dedicated to pouring love and guidance into those around him. His mission in Hojancha was to help the community thrive, continuing the work of building a legacy of faith, love, and service. Even in his passing, his passion for serving others remains alive.

To honor his memory and continue his life’s work, we are launching a foundation in Carlos’s name. This foundation will carry forward his legacy by supporting our mother, Nuria, as she continues their mission of helping people locally in the Blue Zone and around the world. The foundation will also focus on empowering communities like Matambú to thrive, preserving their cultural heritage and promoting wellness for generations to come.

We are asking for your support to help cover the medical expenses, which are entirely out of pocket in Costa Rica, and to help establish this foundation as a lasting tribute to Carlos’s life and purpose.
