Help Carlin Fight Cancer & Raise Awareness

On March 8, I went to the ER thinking I might have a stomach issue caused by antibiotics or my ongoing knee complications. But within hours, my world changed. A CT scan revealed what doctors immediately suspected to be ovarian cancer—or something similar. Right now, we know for sure that it’s cancer. It has spread throughout my abdomen and pelvic area, and I’m waiting on a biopsy to determine exactly what kind of cancer it is so we can create the right treatment plan.

I wasn’t expecting this. I was about to get back to work, move into my own place, and finally regain some normalcy after months of knee surgeries and complications. Now, I’m staying with my parents, focusing on my health, and figuring out my next steps—treatment, second opinions, and fighting for my future.

I know this journey won’t be easy, and many people have asked how they can help. I’ve decided to set up this GoFundMe to assist with:

• Living expenses since I haven’t been able to work since October.

• Healthy food & wellness support—nutrition is a huge part of my fight.

• Transportation & medical costs not covered by insurance.

More than anything, I want to use this experience to spread awareness. I had no idea that ovarian and similar abdominal cancers often go undetected until later stages because there’s no routine screening test—not even during yearly exams. The only way to catch it is through a CT scan, and by the time symptoms appear, it’s usually advanced. If sharing my story can help even one woman push for the right tests, I’ll consider that a victory.
