Support Carlie's Battle with PNES and Spinal Injuries

Carlie’s Fight for a Better Quality of Life with PNES.

Psychogenic Nonepileptic Seizures (PNES), also known as psychogenic seizures, are a condition where seizures occur without the abnormal brain activity that is characteristic of epilepsy. PNES are triggered by psychological factors and can mimic epileptic seizures.

These seizures are very distressing and challenging to manage. They have caused her great financial, as well as physical and mental health challenges. Carlie has lost many jobs in the past because of her condition. She also has lost her insurance.

Carlie is living with PNES, and it has significantly impacted her life. She has spinal injuries from falling to the floor during these events, which has taken a toll on her body. Carlie is unable to walk because of spinal injuries and nerve pain and damage on her right side. Carlie has lost mobility in her right arm and leg.

We want to make sure she gets the best care to help her during her recovery. She is experiencing daily seizures and having difficulty finding effective treatment.

The funds raised will be used to help Carlie with specific needs, e.g., therapy sessions, medication costs, travel expenses for appointments, specialized equipment.

I've seen firsthand how PNES has affected Carlie, and I want to help her find a path toward a better quality of life. All she ever wanted was to have a normal life working and caring for herself and her children. And every time we think this is over and her life is going good, PNES attacks her body and knocks her back down. Many of you know her story. A lot don’t. This is real and scary for her and her family. She has suffered for 18 years from this terrible rare condition, along with Factor V Leiden, an inherited blood clotting disorder.
