My name is Carla. I am a 65-year-old woman with Ulcerative Colitis. I was in remission until recently, and due to a new move, obtaining a job, etc., I was out of my medicine for 5 months. I'm currently fighting a bad flare since about May 3rd.

I've had to miss work throughout this month, and my return at this time is unknown.

I was admitted to the hospital on 5/25/26, and I'm working on getting this flare under control and into remission. I'm also working on getting my strength back, as I went from 122 lbs on May 2nd to 104 as of 5/26/26.

I'm hoping to be released by week's end, but nothing is set in stone.

Because of this, I'm worried about paying my rent for June.

Any help would be so very appreciated.

Please know any funds above goal will go towards the following month's rent (July), utilities, or medical bills.

My hope is to be healthy and be able to enjoy the simple pleasures in life again, like in the picture provided.

If you can't help financially, any words of hope and positivity would be appreciated.

UPDATE

Hopefully out of the hospital soon, but will not be able to return to work for at least another week or two.

Trying to stay positive and work on healing my body and mind.
