Support Carla's Dream to Be a Psychologist

My name is Carla Maldonado, and I am from Dallas, Texas. I relocated to Salisbury, MD, last year under challenging circumstances, and I made the decision to pursue my education by enrolling at Salisbury University to obtain a bachelor's degree in psychology. Currently, I am facing significant financial hurdles as I am charged out-of-state tuition, which is double the in-state rate of $11,000 per semester. Despite receiving grants, FAFSA aid, and scholarships, I still owe $4,800 after applying all available assistance. This amount must be paid by the end of December to allow me to continue my studies in the Spring of 2025. I have completed 99 credits and need just 21 more to graduate, which translates to about 5-6 remaining classes.

It would be a tremendous financial blessing to receive support, enabling me to continue working toward my goals and dreams. Before my best friend Henry passed away, he and my family provided financial assistance so I could focus solely on my studies. However, times have become difficult, and I am now navigating this journey independently. I currently work full-time as a production coordinator for a flooring company and part-time at Dollar General in the evenings and on weekends, all while attending in-person classes. It has been an uphill battle, but I remain committed to my education. My ultimate goal is to join the Air Force or work for the state upon completing my degree.
