Hello, my name is Carla Coleman Brown.
For most of my life, I’ve been an active and outgoing person. I loved taking road trips, traveling with friends, and even exploring my neighborhood to discover the little treasures hidden in my community. Unfortunately, my health has taken a drastic turn, and I am now facing challenges that have made even the simplest daily activities very difficult.
In 2024, I began experiencing severe back pain that spread around my right side and caused my right hand to swell. After multiple doctor visits, scans, and emergency room trips, I learned that I am dealing with several serious health conditions:
Endometrial cancer (suspected and under ongoing evaluation)
Lung nodules that may also be cancerous
Degenerative bone disease and chronic arthritis in my spine, back, right side, and torso area
Atrial fibrillation (heart condition)
High blood pressure
These diagnoses have changed my life. I now need a cane to walk, I struggle to climb stairs, and I can no longer carry out daily tasks like taking out the trash, sitting comfortably in a car, or even standing in the shower without pain. Sleeping through the night is difficult, and sitting for long periods is almost impossible.
Over the past year, I’ve had multiple emergency room visits, ongoing tests, and countless specialist appointments. More scans, biopsies, and physical therapy are still ahead of me. While I remain hopeful and continue to follow up with my doctors, the journey has been overwhelming both physically and financially. At this time, I am unable to work and need support to cover:
Rent and basic living expenses
Medical bills and ongoing treatments
Daily living assistance
Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference and help ease the burden while I focus on my health and treatment. I am deeply grateful for your kindness, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. I will continue to share updates here as I learn more from my doctors and move forward in this journey.
With gratitude,
Carla
