Journey with Rising Journalist / Media Personality Carisha J as she travels to Ghana to study abroad! Carisha is an American Journalist / Media Personality from Philadelphia, PA. From an incredibly young age, she has always had an entrepreneur/creative streak about herself.

During high school, she spent a major amount of her time on the basketball court. She went to college in New Jersey after finishing high school and channeled her drive into Business Administration. After high school, she began to fully develop her creative/media skills and went on to produce several successful fashion show productions in the city, managed a bar at night that tripled in revenue, and became a media sensation in her own right.

From covering the red carpet at Philadelphia Fashion Week to working as an editor on various blogs and being awarded by the city of Philadelphia for her written contributions, media has always been a part of her life.

Once relocating to Atlanta, Carisha realized she had a much bigger playground to explore. She enrolled in Georgia State University for her degree in Journalism, which really sharpened her skills in the industry. In 2017, she launched her media company ‘Live with Carisha’ and started her very own live talk show in the city. By putting in hard work, dedication, and consistency, this rising mogul is building one of the most successful media platforms in the South. Her captivating aura on stage during her live tapings instantly draws everyone in attendance. Nominated and winning many awards as a host, PR, and for her talk show, Carisha’s work and personality touch the hearts of all who meet her. Self-branded as Carisha the Diva and known by her media peers as Carisha J, this budding reality star, host, and journalist has more milestones and achievements coming along her career path.

Finishing her final semesters at Georgia State University has been quite the obstacle and experience. Carisha owes much of her intelligent building to enrollment at Georgia State. Many of her professors are aware and supportive of her double life as a flourishing talk show host. During school, she lost her mother to cancer before promising her she would never give up on her goals. Carisha is a journalism major with a minor in Public Relations. She has interned under Emmy-winning journalist Jovita Moore, DJ Roots Queen, and is a red-carpet correspondent for Sheen Magazine. She is extremely passionate about learning and growing in her craft.

It has been a long-time dream to travel abroad, build her portfolio, and experience education in the beautiful motherland of Africa. The study abroad program is the final lap before completing her term at Georgia State. This will be a full 2-week itinerary of classes, learning of ancient history, traveling through 3 cities, and more with her classmates.
