I’m a daughter, a fur mom, a best friend, and a romance author. I’ve been self employed as a full time author for over 13 years as Cari Quinn and one half of Taryn Quinn.

And now the unthinkable has happened. I had a hemorrhagic stroke on 5/29/25 that has left me unable to move on my own. It’s going to take a lot of time, effort, and rehab for me to get back to living, let alone writing.

It’s just me and my mom. I don’t really have any other family other than her and my best friend— who lives over 2 hours away from me.

I've never been one to ask for help easily, but this is a huge undertaking both in spirit as well as financially.

The stroke has left me unable to use my left side, but I’m working on it! With every fiber in my being, I’m working on it! But it will require in patient rehabilitation as well as a long road of physical and occupational therapy to get me back on my feet again.

Which means I can’t write at the moment—leaving all the work on my writing partner, Taryn.

I’m asking for help to get me back on my feet—quite literally. I do have insurance, but there is quite a lot of out of pocket expense for this new normal that I am facing. Anything you can spare is greatly appreciated.

I know times are tough all over. I’ve always been the kind of person to support animals and people over the years with any bit of extra I had.
