Support Cari and Kat After Pacific Palisades Fire
Donation protected
I have never set up a GoFundMe before but a very dear friend of mine was effected by the Pacific Palisades fire and is in need of help. Her name is Cari and she is a complete badass. She is a single mom to a beautiful 16 year old girl, Kat. Anyone who knows Cari or has worked with her, knows she operates a million miles an hour and will do whatever it takes to get the job done. She's incredibly loyal, kind-hearted and always on a mission to bring up the women in the industry with her. She is one of the most hard-working mamas I know. And she does it all for her daughter. She is trying to keep it all together and figure it all out but she realizes that this is something that she can't "fix" herself. Cari and Kat were one of the very few people who's home still stands. And while she believes she was at the hands of an angel and is so grateful that she will perhaps have a home to go back to, there are still so many financial pressures that are beginning to mount. She is not allowed to go into her condo to see the damage or get anything and has been told that they will be displaced for 6 months to a year at minimum. It's been deemed inhabitable at this point in time. While she continues to pay her mortgage, she now needs to find a rental in one of the surrounding cities so her daughter can continue high school at one of the public schools accepting displaced students (her high school is gone). Cari was out of town, working, during the fires and her daughter was staying with a friend when the fires broke out. She only had her volleyball jersey and the clothes on her back. They weren't able to grab anything before being evacuated. Any funds donated to Cari and Kat will be used for the additional cost of temporary housing that exceed federal aid allowances, basic clothing and necessities. The two of them are together and that's the only thing that hasn't changed.
