Hi! I'm Shannon, Sheri's adopted sister ☺️

My parents and I are struggling to find ways to support Sheri and Phil. They've been dealing with significant insurance issues, and since we don't live nearby, we're limited in how we can help them directly.

I wanted to share what's been going on and explain why we're reaching out for help.

Phil was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, a rare and terminal form of Brain Cancer in March, 2023. March 23rd 2023 was his first Craniotomy and the Neuro Surgeon was able to get almost all of the mass. Next was intense rounds of Chemotherapy and Radiation. His second Craniotomy was April 15, 2024 in which the Neuro Surgeon was able to get about 80% of the Radiation Necrosis that was progressing in his Brain.

During this process, Phil has lost vision on the left side of each eye, has short term memory issues and is now dealing with extensive left side weakness in his leg, arm and hand making daily living very difficult. He has fallen several times and the last time needed to be hospitalized for 5 days and sent to a Rehab Facility to help him with his left side strength. He was there for 13 days and Insurance said he couldn’t stay anymore.

He has difficulty getting up and walking. He is in need of a caregiver during the day since his wife works to support the family.

This is a terrible disease and one that is unfortunately incurable. The life expectancy has not exceeded 5 years yet Phil is doing his best to beat that but still needs daily help with getting up, getting food, walking, bathing etc. and insurance won't cover providing a care giver, nor will they allow Phil anymore time in the rehab facility.

Phil is a fighter and is deeply loved by many. He and Sheri should not be having to battle insurance issues that put Phil's quality of life at risk. Their time should be spent together, supporting one another and making the most of every moment.

Please help us ease this financial burden and get them the help they need so Sheri and Phil can focus on love and family.
