Support Cara's Path to Healing

Hello dear friends,

 

My sister, Cara, is experiencing a health crisis. She has been diagnosed with Lyme Disease, two of its co-infections, and POTS (a form of dysautonomia) *please see update re: updated diagnosis of Lyme disease/co-infections* These illnesses are causing debilitating symptoms that prevent Cara from living a full life. She is a single (co-parenting) mother, a newly self-employed foot care nurse, and was always an avid trail hiker. Cara's contributions to her community have been immense, and she is devastated by this sudden (and ongoing) loss of connection to her clients and friends.

 

Cara does not have access to EI or health insurance. She is currently not working (since late April) and will not be able to work for the foreseeable future. In addition, she has a daughter to support, along with bills, mortgage, and living costs. Over time the financial burden of living with chronic Lyme has become more apparent. Cara needs financial support to continue living in her home and feed herself and her daughter; she also requires funds to access medications, naturopathic treatments, therapies and supportive care as she undergoes treatment.
