Support Caralee Knowles' Cancer Surgery

Hi, and thanks for stopping by to help our friends Rick and Caralee Knowles- you may know them as the hardworking, always upbeat husband and wife team behind Gypsy's Seafood.

Nearly three years ago, Caralee was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer- thankfully discovered in an early stage. She and Rick spent months in Nassau, where they followed her doctor's orders to the letter, were diligent in her follow up care, and eventually she was officially declared cancer free. But on a recent routine check-up in Marsh Harbour, Caralee learned that her cancer has returned.

Over the last several weeks you may have seen some of the Knowles' social media posts - first selling their boat, then their household appliances, belongings- even their home, to cover the costs of an already-planned (temporary) move back to Nassau so that Caralee can receive ongoing medical care for a different affliction- one she's been quietly battling for more than a year. They planned and prepared well for their move- ensuring Gypsy's Seafood dips and sauces will still be available in Hope Town and even expand into new markets, providing them with a steady income stream during the transition. They used the funds from their yard sales to secure housing, transportation and treatment for Caralee's ongoing care. But the one thing they didn't plan for, is the news that Caralee's cancer has returned and requires immediate action. The surgeon recommends removal ASAP, ideally mid November to prevent potential spread.

A contribution toward Caralee's cancer treatment will help ease some of the unexpected financial burden they are now facing, and provide them with support they need during this difficult and unplanned part of their journey.
