On May 4th, our beloved friend Cara Herdman suffered a sudden brain aneurysm that led to a subarachnoid hemorrhage, requiring emergency surgery. While the surgery was successful and her healing is progressing, the road ahead will be long and incredibly painful. Cara remains under close monitoring, as the risk of stroke still looms during this critical recovery phase.

Doctors are encouraged by her resilience so far, but Cara will be out of work for at least the next 3 months — possibly longer, depending on how her body heals. As a self-employed contractor, she now faces an overwhelming financial burden, with very few resources available to ease the stress of lost income and ongoing medical needs.

If you know Cara, you know her heart. She is one of the most generous, compassionate, and selfless people you’ll ever meet. She has lifted up so many of us in our own times of need, often without being asked — simply because that’s who she is.
