Hi friends, family, and kind strangers —

If you know me, you know Captain. He is the sweetest, happiest, most loving and loyal pittie in the world. Unfortunately the other day, he slipped while going down some stairs and broke one of his hind legs. Once I got him to the emergency vet, I found out it was a full tibia fracture -- one of the worst outcomes.

He’s spent the weekend in the hospital being cared for, and he’s scheduled for surgery on Monday. Because of his age (11 years young) and pre-existing conditions, recovery is going to be a little more challenging and we've got a long road ahead of us.

The costs for his emergency care and surgery are overwhelming and were wildly unexpected; this all happened in the literal blink of an eye. I’m doing everything I can, but I could really use a little help. Any donation — no matter the size — would mean the world. All donations will go directly to supporting the costs of his time in the hospital and post-surgery aftercare, as we adjust to this new situation.
