Help Captain Billy Alstrom Rebuild After Hurricane Helene

On September 26th, Hurricane Helene devastated much of the Gulf Coast, and left Captain Billy Alstrom, owner of Suncoast Fishing Charters LLC, facing unimaginable loss. The storm surged floodwaters three feet deep into his home, destroying nearly everything he owned.

Captain Billy’s home was left in ruins, with floodwaters destroying essential flooring, furniture, appliances, and personal items, including his refrigerator, range, washer, air conditioner, BBQ grill, ice machine and even irreplaceable items like his photos, videos, books and fishing/hunting equipment, tackle. Some of his belongings were found washed away, carried as far as Cortez Road.

This disaster hasn’t just affected his home life but has also brought his livelihood to a standstill. As a charter captain, the destruction of the beaches will drastically impact tourism and his business for the foreseeable future, leaving him without an income during an already difficult time.

Captain Billy has begun the heartbreaking process of throwing away his ruined possessions and gutting his home. It will take months of rebuilding—if that’s even an option—to restore what was lost.
