Hi, my name is Victoria. This is my baby Capone. On Thursday, October 30th my dog was bit in the eye. I immediately took him to the emergency vet where we spent 6 hours treating my poor baby. The doctor then told me that he would probably need enucleation. They wanted me to see an ophthalmologist first thing in the morning. We arrived home at 1am and I had to apply drops every 30 to 40 minutes to keep the eye from drying out bc it was at risk of erupting bc there was so much pressure in his eye. I stayed up all night treating the wound and took him to the specialist at 7 am who said he was blind in that eye and he needed enucleation. She sent me home with antibiotics, anti inflammatory meds, pain meds, and multiple types of eye drops and scheduled a follow up for this Thursday. I spent the entire weekend in the hours caring for him and have had him on a strict regimen. Today is Sunday night and I noticed his eye bleeding again. I called the emergency vet and explained what I saw. She read his chart and said she would not wait another 24-48hours to remove his eye bc it is at risk for infection and it is painful for him. I need to come up with anything. I applied for care credit and got approved for $2500. I used $600 on the first night at the emergency vet and another $500 at the ophthalmologist in the morning. I do not have the money to get this surgery done at such short notice as I was in a car accident myself August 24th and my car was totaled and the other drive was uninsured and I had to take time off of work. Besides that the emergency vet said I could bring him tonight and pick him up in the morning but it was super last minute and I wanted to call around and see if I can get a cheaper quote. Any thing helps. Thank you.
