Hello, my name is Caoba Nichim-Luta. I was recently given the incredible opportunity to represent Team USA on the under-20 men’s national team for ultimate frisbee. This summer, I will join 30 other amazing players from around the country as Team USA competes against 50 teams from around the world for the World Junior Ultimate Championship Title.
Let me share with you a little bit about my Ultimate Frisbee story. I have been playing frisbee for nearly 9 years now. It became an integral aspect of my life as the first sport I learned after recovering from a near fatal illness at 7 years old. It was thanks to the welcoming environment of Ultimate Frisbee that I relearned how to trust my body and fall in love with the game. Early in high school, I remember sharing with my parents my crazy dream of one day playing for the U20 USA team. It is surreal that I am now able to live this very dream.
It is such an honor to represent the best of Junior Ultimate Frisbee at the world stage. I know the hard work it has taken to get here, and I have so many mentors, coaches, teammates and family to thank. They have all nurtured my growth as an athlete and a person these past years. I am super excited to embark on this journey and do my best to represent NY and NJ Ultimate!
Now for my ask. This great opportunity comes at a financial cost to each player. And so, I am reaching out to this community in the hopes you can support my journey to Logroño. All raised funds will cover the costs of joining the training camps as well as the costs for travel, lodging and food at the week long World Tournament in Spain.
Any amount of support, whether through a donation or simply by sharing this fundraiser with others is appreciated. Thank you!
I hope to make the USA proud!
