Hi, I’m Jake Kinney, and I am incredibly grateful and honored to be running the 2026 Boston Marathon. This opportunity means so much to me, and I’m proud to run with purpose in support of the Canty Underdog Scholarship Foundation.

The Canty Underdog Scholarship Foundation was established in honor of Brad Canty, who was thoughtful, kind, and compassionate, always going out of his way to make someone else’s day better. Brad had to work harder than most, facing GI and immune issues that caused him to miss school often and endure challenges many never experience. Through it all, he showed resilience, empathy, and selflessness toward others.

Brad’s legacy lives on through this foundation, which supports deserving Hopkinton High School students who may have gone unrecognized during their high school years.

Annually, 10 scholarships of $1,000 are awarded to qualified seniors, recognizing the perseverance, character, and determination that Brad exemplified.

Running the Boston Marathon is a true privilege, and doing so in Brad’s honor makes every mile even more meaningful. I’m deeply thankful for the opportunity to help carry on his legacy and support students who deserve to be seen and celebrated.
