We are a purpose-driven team made up of punk rockers, skaters, straight-edge hardcore, tattooers and mountain hikers. Together we share a common mission to help and make a difference in our communities in the Philippines. With two typhoons (typhoon “Kalmaegi” and typhoon “Uwan) subsequently hitting central Philippines, we witnessed the destruction it left in its path, and although there is aid from the government, the destruction is too vast that it is hard to distribute immediate help and support to communities most affected by the typhoons, especially those living in remote places, like Moises Padilla and many others. With the flow of funding coming in from all over to help the victims, we are deeply saddened that despite all the collective efforts to help and make a difference, corruption runs rampant with news of aid not going directly to the hands of the victims. With this in mind, we made it upon ourselves to gather resources and funding to send boots on the ground so we don’t have to rely on other charities or government organizations that are restricted in their dispersion of aid. It is our goal to bring help directly to those most affected. At the moment, we are in contact with water refilling stations where clean water is not currently accessible due to the typhoon. We are also in talks with local friends who are willing to provide capable transportation, like off-road trucks, that would help in distributing aid to remote areas that are currently still not accessible by means of public transportation. The place most affected, Canlaon City, is a vast and beautiful city. It is one of the agricultural hubs of our island. It is dear to our hearts as some of our friends have families in this city, and others have often climbed the volcano near the city. With all our hearts, we are humbly asking for your support. Any amount, no matter how small will go a long way. All your help will go directly to the people with no middle-man involved. In addition, transparency is important to ANNEX’s mission. We promise to provide detailed paper trail of any use of the funds, we will document all the movement on the ground, from the transportation down to the cost of the most basic necessities distributed. From the main city, Bacolod, it takes two hours to drive up to Canlaon City. We will update everyone of every movement on the ground. Your support will mean so much to us and all the people involved.
