My name is Candi, and I have always prided myself on working hard to support my family, often juggling two or three jobs at a time. In November 2025, I started a new position, excited for a fresh start. But soon after, my health began to decline rapidly. I was diagnosed with bronchitis, RSV, pneumonia, afib, and severe asthma. My days became a blur of doctor appointments, ER visits, and constant worry about my health. I was recently hospitalized due to my breathing and heart issues, and I am now scheduled for a cardiac ablation at the end of the month in hopes of finally being able to breathe more easily.
Because I had not been at my new job long enough, I was not eligible for short-term disability. My manager and HR tried to let me go, but because my absences were medically excused, they could not. Still, I struggle every day just to make it through a shift. Climbing stairs or walking to my work area leaves me gasping for air, feeling like a failure. It’s been incredibly hard to go from being someone who could always provide to someone who now struggles to work even eight hours a day.
I have never asked for help from anyone before and have never used government assistance. Admitting that I need help is difficult and embarrassing, but I am reaching out because I truly need support. The funds raised will help me pay my monthly bills and cover the mounting medical expenses that have come with my illness. Any help you can give would mean the world to me and my family. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for considering a donation.
