Hi, my name is Candice. I have always loved to go fishing, camping, hiking, swimming, and outdoor stuff. And in 2015, I thought of myself for once and moved to Las Vegas to further my education.

In 2018, I gradually started to lose weight, my muscle seemed to dissipate, and I couldn't stand for longer than 8-10 minutes. When I fell at a gas station and didn't have enough muscle to get myself off the ground. I made an appointment with an internal medicine doctor in Las Vegas. After being in and out of hospitals, getting my blood drawn for a series of tests, x-rays, CT scans, and biopsies done on my muscles, thyroid, and lymph nodes to rule out any cancer, I was diagnosed. In March 2019, I was diagnosed with Dermatomyositis with Organ Involvement, which had directly affected my lungs. In which, I was also diagnosed with Interstitial Lung Disease with Pulmonary Fibrosis. I have been told that I'm never going to heal and that my diseases can be managed with medications, which I have several of. In 2024 I had to go on oxygen full time. Not to mention, IVIG infusions monthly for my lungs. Now in 2025, I am still struggling. Both my Pulmonologist and my Rheumatologist agree that it is time to place me on the transplant list for lungs. Anticipating major medical bills as well as the cost of me moving to Salt Lace City, away from major support group is also weighing heavy and causing undue stress.
