Help Support Candice Teague in Her Fight Against Appendix Cancer

Hi, Susan Stockton and I are organizing this fundraiser for our dear friend, Candice Teague—a godly, selfless woman who has spent her entire life showing up for others, and now needs her community to show up for her.

2025 has been a year of unimaginable challenges for Candice and her family. Earlier this year, she had foot surgery that left her unable to walk for over a month. When she finally began healing, life threw another hardship her way: her son, Tucker, began showing symptoms of heart issues in July. By August, after countless labs, wearing a heart monitor, and undergoing an Echo, he was diagnosed with Aortic Root Dilation and Tachycardia—on top of his existing neurological diagnoses.

Imagine being 8 years old and being told:
No caffeine.
No tug-of-war.
No rough play.
No activities that put pressure on your chest.

For a little boy who is 100% all-boy, full of energy and joy, this has been heartbreaking and stressful for the entire family. Tucker continues seeing specialists and soon will undergo genetic testing in Indianapolis.

Through all of this, Candice quietly carried her own pain. She had been struggling with symptoms for quite some time and finally advocated for herself and got an ultrasound in October. The results were sent to her gynecologist, who believed she had a large endometrioma. After years of pelvic pain and heartbreak, she made the difficult decision to undergo a total hysterectomy—grieving the final loss of her chance to have another child, even though she is beyond grateful for her sweet Tucker.

On the morning of November 13, Candice cried at the thought of losing something so deeply tied to motherhood. But what she woke up to in recovery was something she never could have prepared for:

She did not have a hysterectomy.
She instead learned she had Appendiceal Mucinous Neoplasm with Pseudomyxoma Peritonei—a rare cancer.

She underwent an appendectomy with partial cecectomy and was immediately referred to Washington University in St. Louis for further scans, labs, and consultations. She now faces Cytoreductive Surgery (CRS) and Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (IPCT) in the near future—a major, life-altering procedure with a long recovery.

And through all of this, Candice has remained full of grace, gratitude, and faith. In her own words:

“Please keep us in your prayers and thoughts as we get through Christmas and the next surgery for me. I truly appreciate the family and friends that have brought me food and gifts while recovering. I truly have felt the love. We take way too much for granted. If you are healthy and happy, live in that moment. For this is just a season for us.”

As Candice prepares for extensive treatments and will be unable to work, the financial burden is overwhelming. This fundraiser will help support her and her family with:

1. Medical bills and treatment costs

2. Travel, lodging, and gas for trips to St. Louis

3. Food and daily living expenses

Candice is a woman who has poured love into so many people. She is the friend who shows up, prays for you, helps you, and gives without hesitation. She would give the shirt off her back to someone in need. Now, it’s our turn to be the hands and feet lifting her up.

No amount is too small. Every donation, every share, and every prayer genuinely helps.

Thank you for loving Candice, supporting her journey, and standing beside her during this season.
