Help Me Afford Legal Fees to Secure a Fair Divorce - better than an FO page for feet!

I never thought I’d be in a place where I needed to ask for help—but here I am, facing the most difficult financial and emotional challenge of my life.

After 7 years, including 5+ years of marriage, I’m going through a divorce with a man who now makes over $15,000 per month, lives in a new house, drives luxury cars, and dines out daily—while I struggle to survive on less than $4,000 a month, with no savings and every penny tied up in the “forever” home I’m being forced to sell.

He’s offering only $2,000/month in alimony for six months and expects a 50/50 split of the home I’ve poured my heart, energy, sweat, soul, and finances into. Meanwhile, I am left to prepare it for sale entirely on my own with systemic arthritis and bursitis.

We were trying to avoid the cost of formal discovery, but it has become clear that he is hiding assets and not disclosing his full financial picture. Without this legal step, I won’t be able to receive what is rightfully and legally mine.

I am humbly (and embarrassingly) asking for help raising funds to cover the cost of my attorney pursuing formal discovery—a process that can uncover hidden income, assets, and provide the documentation needed to ensure fairness. The entire time we were married, he was paying child support for three kids and past debts, all with the backup of my second income. For mental health reasons, I backed away from administration and returned to teaching this year (my 31st year) and took more than a 50% pay cut—all discussed with my ex prior to that decision.

I’ve spent my life helping others—students, family, friends, even people I don’t know—without asking for anything in return. Now, I need support to fight for justice and rebuild my life with dignity and peace.
