Hi everyone, my name is Kaley Mason, I am the oldest of three children to Mike and Lisa Donnelly. For our entire life, my siblings and I have watched our parents show up for other people. Whether it’s family, friends, neighbors, or even strangers- they are always the first to offer help without ever expecting anything in return. While our parents are humble and never want to ask for help- we really wanted to come together to help lighten the burden.

In February, our Dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Every day since then, he has shown strength and resilience every single day. About a month ago, he had surgery to remove the tumor, and we are so grateful that it was successful. Since then, he has spent most of his time in the hospital recovering from a few different post-op complications. Due to this, both of our parents have been out of work for the past several weeks. Dad is receiving care in NYC, which requires frequent travel back and forth from upstate New York, with more travel to come as he begins chemotherapy in the next few weeks. While we are staying hopeful and positive, we know this next phase may bring continued challenges and uncertainty as we are unsure when Dad can return to work.

Michael, Dana, and I were raised by parents who taught us to always show up for others, to give without hesitation, and to never turn away from someone in need. Now it’s our turn to show up and lighten the burden for them. If you are able to contribute, no matter how small, it would truly mean more to our family than we can express.
