Support Cancer Awareness in Vanuatu’s Rural Outer Islands

A Call to Action by Ikana Cancer Foundation
Cancer is a growing concern in Vanuatu, particularly in rural outer islands, where awareness is alarmingly low. Too often, individuals discover their condition at advanced stages, such as Stage 2 and beyond, when treatment becomes more challenging and less effective. This urgent issue calls for immediate action.
The Ikana Cancer Foundation is joining forces with the people of Vanuatu to bring education and hope to these communities. In support of Vanuatu's Prime Minister Walkaton Call , which concludes on 30th August 2025, this fundraiser aims to create change where it is most needed.
What This Fundraiser Supports
Your contributions will directly fund:
1. Cancer Education Campaigns: Bringing vital information about early detection, symptoms, and prevention to rural communities.
2. Outreach Programs: Reaching remote areas to ensure no one is left behind in the fight against cancer.
3. Training for Local Leaders: Equipping community leaders with tools and knowledge to spread awareness effectively.
Why It Matters
In Vanuatu, cervical and breast cancer are claiming too many lives because they are often diagnosed too late. Many women don’t have access to screening, awareness, or treatment options, and by the time they seek help, it’s often too late. Vanuatu has limited capacity to treat stage two cervical cancer and breast cancer, primarily due to constraints in medical infrastructure, specialized oncology services, and advanced treatment options. Even when referrals are made for overseas treatment, many patients cannot afford it, and government funding for such referrals is limited.
Join Us in Making a Difference
Together, we can ensure that no family has to face the devastating effects of cancer without knowledge or support. This fundraising will help support the local IKANA Cancer Foundation to provide early detection services and advocate for better healthcare resources.
Let’s unite in the spirit of community and compassion to create a brighter, healthier future for Vanuatu's outer islands.
Donate today and become a part of this life-changing mission. Every sharing of the fundraiser and contribution counts!
