Three Canadian officials have been appointed to the upcoming Junior Pan American Championships, April 10-18, in Bridgetown, Barbados, but all three of them need to pay their own ways there.
Can we across Canada raise the support to send these three to an international competition without this steep financial barrier?
Meghan McLennan (umpire)
Pambavasan Manikandan (umpire)
Laurie Hogan (technical official)
The Canadian women's junior national team, competing in the event, is leaning on the community to help fund their journey and team expenses down there but there is no funding for our officials, who also represent Canada, at the tournament.
We are hoping the community can rally together so these three can officially accept (and, frankly, afford) their appointments.
Any additional funds that are raised will be donated directly to the Field Hockey Canada Officials Committee, where it will be specifically used for Officials ONLY development.
Wherever you are in the world, whatever sport you play, coach, watch or support - consider a small amount to help us get Meghan, Pamba and Laurie to the Junior Pan American Championships.
We can't play without officials and if we don't support them, it's a long journey ahead.
