Support Canada Prep Academy's 2022 Season

Background:
Founded back in 2013, Canada Prep was at the time the only opportunity for Canadian high school football players to attend high school in Canada while playing a full American football schedule in the United States. The concept was simple: provide NCAA-eligible academics and exposure to NCAA programs in order to help Canadian student-athletes achieve their dreams of playing Division I football (while also opening up their recruitment across Canada). And it did just that, with early successes being Neville Gallimore's 30+ D1 offers and Brady Oliveira's offer and commitment to North Dakota. Success continued with players like Sage Doxtator moving on to New Mexico State and Tosan Agbeyegbe receiving two Ivy League offers and attending Yale.

Beyond helping our own players, Canada Prep's existence and early success have opened up many doors for other Canadian high school football players when it comes to recruitment - also by inspiring US high school programs to more openly recruit Canadians and inspiring other "prep programs" in Canada to start up and compete against US competition.

The Difference:
Canada Prep remains the only private high school prep program in existence in Canada. This means that our academics are connected to a private school rather than a public school.

A private school education offers a more individualized education for our student-athletes, expertise in NCAA eligibility and academic compliance that most public school guidance staff do not have, and a setting in which class sizes are small and distractions are few. We have many students who transfer to us from public school programs with eligibility issues and we are able to help them in a way that other programs cannot.

Our program also takes responsibility over players' boarding and food, unlike public high school programs. Therefore we are more than just a football program.
The Need:
As a private program, government funding is not something that is available to help us support and fund the program. Like many sports organizations, we were limited in our ability to operate during the covid-19 pandemic throughout 2020-21.

We want to keep costs down for our student-athletes. We want to be able to offer the highest quality and keep our program in line with similar American high school football programs that are extremely well-funded. We want to be able to continue to offer financial aid, which means that we need external sources to cover some of the necessary costs associated with tuition. We also are dealing with rising fuel costs and travel costs.
All of these factors have caused us to look for external support for the first time in our existence.
Accomplishments:
  • First US Army All-American Bowl player from Canada
  • First international player invited to The Opening
  • 2 alumni in the NFL, 16 alumni drafted to the CFL in the past few years
  • Over 20 alumni received scholarships to NCAA universities
