Cam was diagnosed with a brain tumor in May 2021, and he's been battling this tumor for almost four and a half years. He underwent a craniotomy in January 2022 with only a 25% chance of survival, and doctors could only remove 80% of the tumor because it was located in such a dangerous spot. He then endured seven SRS radiation surgeries in July 2022.
During this incredibly challenging time, Cam and his wife Kaylee welcomed a beautiful baby girl in November 2022 at just 24 weeks gestation. Their daughter spent 113 days in the NICU, fighting for her own life while Cam continued his battle against the brain tumor. Currently, he works with a team of 10 doctors and takes up to 15 medications daily.
After multiple interventions failed in February 2024, Colorado providers told them there was nothing more they could do locally. So Cam and Kaylee traveled over 1,700 miles from home, starting in May 2024, to seek treatment in Philadelphia. They made seven trips to Philadelphia over 10 months, but their last treatment in March 2025 failed, forcing them back to Colorado to explore other options across the country.
In July 2025, Cam received another devastating diagnosis: a CSF leak where his brain lining has torn open. This requires brain surgery on August 15th, 2025. After this surgery, he'll need another brain operation within two to three weeks to prevent brain swelling and stop the lining from tearing open again.
Cam hasn't been able to work since May 2021, and his wife is currently on leave due to high stress, anxiety, and the demands of caring for both her husband and child. They deeply appreciate all the support during this difficult time, and anything helps.
This family is incredibly proud and has declined having a GoFundMe for years. But now they've put their pride aside and allowed me to start this fund, hoping it will help a family that has been battling continuously for the past four years.
