Hi! You don't know me, but I know you! I am Sassy and have been attending the Lakes of Fire regional burn for going on 9 years now, the last few being an auxiliary member of Frozen Kraken Creamery. Every year I try to bring something to contribute whether it is gifting trinkets, being an art grant recipient, volunteering, introducing virgin burners, or helping out with an established theme camp.

Last year I had a dream: to finally jump off the deep end and start my very own theme camp. After much thought and consideration, I decided that the theme I would build my camp around is getting things you cannot find anywhere else. This year I'm leaning into Doorways of Time by transporting you all to the mystic realm of historical ancient Egypt!

I walked into this having a what I thought was a realistic view of budgeting and labor but the dream began last year before the economy took a nose dive. Rather than admit defeat (I'm allergic) I've decided to do what I can with what I have!

That being said, I've talked to fellow burners and it seems like A LOT of us are fascinated by the ancient Egyptian era! This is very exciting and has given me a drive to share these experiences with as many others as humanly possible and to keep these experiences as authentic as possible. I wanna put the many, many hours of research to good use and create the magic of time travel for you all!

So what does this include/why do I need a few extra dolla dolla bills? To share the following experiences, as well as provide a transformative atmosphere:

Solid perfume workshop

Learn to read/write your name in hieroglyphics and Hieratic on papyrus

Make unleavened flat bread with spices

Sample homemade date wine

Construct a funeral necklace with stone beads

On top of these activities, there will be a plethora of reading materials and board games from ancient Egypt readily available as well as a metric butt ton of informative material!

So pretty please, whether it's a dollar or 10, help me bring the magic -to you- at Lakes of Fire this year as Camp Nowhere But Here! *Sassy,Brodie, Druzy, and Commando
