Camp Fiona is a 501(c)(3) that works with military vets and special needs. Our main focus deals with the trauma that leads to PTSD and behavioral issues in special needs. We have designed a new-age service dog that allows for the first time to beat PTSD and behavioral issues in special needs. We are asking for help with raising enough money to build a housing and training station on the property, plus with food and vet bills. We are also currently looking into an awareness program that can help the Veterans retiring in their first year find the answers they are looking for when signing up for VA benefits and various other needed services. Many vets give everything for the country but so many times are treated like a concussion victim playing football. If they say they have PTSD then they risk getting discharged. However when they retire its hard to prove they had these issues because they never mentioned them scared it would end their career. These dogs should be able to cut into that narrative allowing the soldier to heal and serve back into the military if they choose. We also plan on setting up a camp once a year to allow university students and special needs NOT currently enrolled in a state program the opportunity to enroll first starting in Fall 2025/Spring 2026. This opportunity not only allows growth in our field by allowing students the opportunity with 1 on 1 experiences but also allows others see the potential of these special dogs.
