On July 22nd, our family's life changed forever. After a few days of trying to figure out why Cameron wasn’t feeling well, Julia and Jake got news no parents should ever hear. Cameron, just 18 months old, was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). This all happened while Julia was 38 weeks pregnant, just days away from welcoming their second baby into the world. In one day, Julia and Jake went from enjoying life with their happy toddler before becoming a family of 4, to spending their days at Children’s Hospital, learning about treatment and the long road ahead.
Many of you have reached out asking how you can help. Your generosity will help ease the financial stress of medical expenses, meals, and the unexpected costs that come with a lengthy hospital stay. Julia and Jake are navigating life with their newborn, Parker, and splitting their time between the hospital and home, doing everything they can to be there for both of their children. Our hope with this is to take one worry off of Jake and Julia so they can focus their energy on where it matters most.
Through it all, one thing has remained constant: Cami’s bright spirit. She continues to smile, play, and remind everyone around her just how strong and resilient she is. We know that she has the support of so many.
Thank you for your generosity, love, and prayers.

A note from Jake and Julia:
From the bottom of our hearts we want to say thank you for every message, gift and act of kindness we have received. We are blessed with an incredible community of family, friends and coworkers and are blown away by the outpouring of love and support.
Above all, we ask you to pray for our family and for Cami to be fully healed. Please also pray for the doctors, nurses and all other healthcare professionals overseeing her care.
We also ask that if you or someone you know have experienced Acute Myeloid Leukemia that you would share your story with us. It is very encouraging to us when we hear stories from families who have gone through a similar situation.
Many of you have told us you would be willing to be tested to see if you are a potential stem cell donor for Cami. Our care team has told us that stem cell donors are unable to choose a specific recipient in this way unless you are a sibling or parent. However, we encourage anyone interested to go through the process of joining the stem cell donor registry to support Cami and others like her.
