For 26 years, Camille Adana has been a dedicated teacher at Cleveland High School, spending her career showing up for students, colleagues, and families. Teaching has never been just a job for Camille, it has been her way of giving back, mentoring others, and making a lasting difference in her community.
In mid-January 2026, Camille underwent surgery to remove a tumor from her abdomen and was diagnosed with stage three Leiomyosarcoma. LMS is a rare, aggressive cancer arising from smooth muscle cells, commonly affecting the uterus, abdomen, or blood vessels. While the surgery was successful, she now faces approximately a year of ongoing cancer treatment, which requires her to take the rest of the school year off from work to focus on treatment and recovery.
This diagnosis brings significant medical expenses along with the challenge of covering everyday living costs during a period without her regular income. Camille has spent her life caring for others. Now it’s our turn to care for her.
Donations will help cover medical expenses not fully covered by insurance, ongoing treatment and everyday living expenses such as rent, utilities, food, and basic household bills
This fundraiser is a way for the many people whose lives Camille has touched to support her during this difficult year. Any contribution, or simply sharing this page, is deeply appreciated.
If you’re able, please consider leaving a note of encouragement on this GoFundMe page, messages of support mean more to Camille than you may realize.
This fundraiser is organized by Josie Boccuzzi and Angie Tabaczynski, who have known Camille for nearly 40 years and wanted to create a way for friends, family, former students, and the community to support her during this year of treatment.
Thank you for supporting Camille and giving back to someone who has given so much to others.
