We’re coming together to support our dear friend and colleague, Camila, after the sudden and heartbreaking loss of her mother. Camila has been in Colombia since January 20, caring for her mother during a long illness and, unexpectedly, navigating her passing. Now, she’s facing the emotional weight of grief and the practical responsibilities of funeral arrangements and closing out her mother’s life—without the safety net of financial resources.
Camila is 34, and anyone who knows her knows what a light she is: deeply loyal, creative, intuitive, and generous with her care for others. She is full of love and commitment, and brings humor and play to every space she enters. Camila’s laughter is a signature; her presence is a source of beauty and joy for those around her. We love her very much, at The Morris and Sirene; she has been an integral part of our team and community. Because of the urgency of the situation, Camila has had to travel to Colombia more than once in a short period of time over the last few months. These unexpected trips, combined with time away from work, have placed a real financial strain on her during an already devastating moment. Camila is expected to return in early to mid-February, but she will still need support in these weeks and following to help stabilize her footing as she grieves and re-enters daily life.
Donations will go directly toward travel costs related to her time in Colombia, living expenses during her time away from work, and funeral and related arrangements for her mother. If you’re able to contribute, please know that any amount—large or small—makes a meaningful difference. If you’re not in a position to donate, sharing this page is just as appreciated. Thank you for helping us wrap Camila in support during this incredibly difficult time. We can’t wait to welcome her back to the Bay and our teams; until then, we want her to feel held.
