Support Cameron's fight against Burkitt's Leukaemia

Donation protected
Cameron is our son, our brother, our boy — and he is one of the bravest people we know!

Cameron was first diagnosed with Burkitt’s lymphoma at the age of five in 2015.
Now, at 15, he is facing Burkitt’s leukaemia.
Burkitt’s is a rare, highly aggressive and fast-growing cancer that affects the white blood cells.

Back in 2015, Cameron developed a 10cm tumour mass in a lymph node in his abdomen, which grew within just a few weeks. Earlier this year, he began experiencing a painful jaw along with unexplained bruising - symptoms that signalled the cancer had developed again, this time affecting his bone marrow and lymphatic system.

On both occasions, treatment began immediately with intensive chemotherapy. Previously, Cameron underwent four rounds of chemotherapy, and this time he will again require four rounds. Alongside this, the focus is now on finding a suitable bone marrow donor to provide a long-term solution.

At this stage, Cameron is expected to remain hospitalised for 6-8 months, depending on how his treatment progresses and whether any complications arise. His mum stays overnight with him during the week, while his dad takes over on weekends so he is always supported. At home, his 18-year-old brother is helping to keep the household running.

Ten years ago, during his previous treatment, LEGO became so much more than just a toy for Cameron. It was a pastime, a form of rehabilitation, a challenge, and an escape. It captured his imagination and brought him genuine joy during an incredibly difficult time. When so much felt out of his control, LEGO gave him something he could control - allowing him to focus, create, and achieve something amazing.

Now, as he faces this battle again, that hasn’t changed.

Cameron’s 16th birthday is coming up in May, and one thing he would truly love is the chance to choose his dream LEGO set (or sets). It would mean so much to him to have that creative outlet and something to look forward to during these long months in hospital.

There are also two other ways you can help — and they cost nothing:
Register as a bone marrow donor!
Finding the right stem cell donor can be life-changing for patients like Cameron. If you're not already registered, please consider signing up through Australian Red Cross Lifeblood.

Donate blood, plasma and platelets!
Blood donations are used throughout cancer treatment and are always needed. If you're able to give, you can find your nearest Lifeblood centre and book an appointment below.

Any support - big or small - would mean the world to Cameron and to all of us supporting him.

Thank you for your kindness and support!
