Support Cameron Schell & His Family After Devastating Fire

Dear friends, family, and compassionate strangers:

 

On January 8th, 2025 our beloved brother, coach, dog dad and fellow Hampton alum, Cameron Schell and his family were struck with a massive and sudden loss as the Eaton Canyon Fire took everything from them in less than 24 hours.

Cameron’s family is dealing with the catastrophic burden of having not only his home, but the home of his uncle, and the home of his grandparents completely burned to the ground. Cameron and his family escaped with their lives, his dog and the clothes on their backs.

While there has been a lot of coverage on how the fires have affected certain parts of California, little is known about the historically significant communities of Altadena and Pasadena. An area where generations of working and middle class African American families have given their blood, sweat and tears to call home. Cameron and his family worked hard for many years to own their piece of Los Angeles, for themselves and the generations after them, only to lose it all overnight. There is no proper way to prepare to lose everything you own in the blink of an eye. As we know, these types of catastrophic events have life and generation altering outcomes and government resources such as insurance and aid are often dispersed unfairly.

We ask that you please join us in banding around our brother and his family who are now faced with the difficult reality of rebuilding their lives from zero. Help us let them know that they are not alone. If you are able to contribute, any amount will make a difference.
