My fiance was one of the men brutally targeted by a sick man on 9/28. Cameron Callahan is his name and he is still in the hospital suffering complications from the wreck and carnage of that night. We are in desperate need for prayers and money to help to help cover bills, food, utilities, medical bills, etc...We are a two income family, but barely get by on a normal day. This is not a normal day, or week or month...We praise God every day for his mercy, healing and grace. Bless you for taking the time to read this, donate, and share. Godspeed to us all.
Two men are clinging to life because one man’s rage turned a dirt road into a war zone.
Deputies were called to Eaves Bridge Rd & Garner Rd where they found Austin Glover unconscious with a gunshot wound to the neck and Cameron Callahan with a severe head injury. Both rushed to the hospital, critical.
Investigators say the victims were riding dirt roads in a pickup when 41-year-old Omar Braderick Bennett jumped on his ATV started chasing them and fired. The men hid in the woods, tried to leave, and the ATV driver blocked the road and fired again hitting the driver and causing the truck to crash into a tree.
And his excuse? He was upset about the truck “tearing up the roads” and thought it was a friend’s stolen vehicle. Newsflash, genius it was registered to the driver you just shot. His follow-up? He claims he was only “shooting into the air.” Funny how bullets aimed at the sky still found two people’s bodies.
If your first instinct is to chase, corner, and open fire because you think someone’s mudding or you suspect a theft…..... congratulations, you’re not a hero; you’re the threat.
This wasn’t self-defense. This was a grown man playing Rambo over a dirt road and nearly killing two innocent people because his fragile little ego couldn’t handle a pickup kicking up dust.
Both victims remain critical; investigation active; more charges possible. We’ll update as hospital conditions and booking details come up.
