Cameron White has been one of my son’s closest friends since grade school, and I’ve watched him grow into a caring and responsible young man. On Saturday, 12/27, Cameron’s world was turned upside down when his mother passed away unexpectedly. The loss of a parent is devastating at any age, but for a teenager like Cameron, it’s a heartbreak that’s hard to put into words. Now, on top of his grief, Cameron is facing the enormous responsibility of becoming the primary caregiver for his 12-year-old sister, who is just about to enter her own teenage years.

Cameron is determined to keep his family together and provide his sister with the stability and love she needs during this incredibly difficult time. The funds raised will go directly toward covering funeral expenses, helping Cameron take legal guardianship of his sister, and securing a new apartment so they can start to rebuild their lives. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help ease the financial burden and give Cameron and his sister a chance to find some peace and hope for the future.

My wish is to create some peace in the personal hell that thankfully many of us don’t go through until much later in life—losing your mother as a teenager and having to grow up and take on the sole care of your sister as she is entering her teenage years.
