Support Calvin's Battle Against DIPG
Donation protected
In February 2024, Calvin and his family’s lives were turned upside down. What started as a normal afternoon at school turned into a living nightmare. A trip to the ER quickly progressed into an ambulance ride to AdventHealth Children’s Hospital in Orlando. After further testing they awaited MRI results, which ultimately provided the news that no one wanted to hear.
Calvin was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) and was only given 6-8 months left to live. Although this is the diagnosis, there is still hope that we can work towards a miracle. DIPG is a highly aggressive brain stem tumor located on the Pons. Due to the location of the tumor, it is inoperable with very limited options for treatment. DIPG affects 200-300 children per year and holds a very low survival rate with ultimately no cure.
The heartbreak and devastation that Calvin and his family are experiencing is something that no one should ever have to endure. Our prayers and hopes are high and we appreciate all the love and support from our family, friends and community.
Many people have reached out asking to assist and support in any way possible. Although we are still trying to process and fully grasp the impact this is going to have, we wanted to give people a resource to help and contribute to the journey Calvin is about to embark on.
Your contributions, no matter the amount, will make a world of difference for Calvin and his family. Every donation will go towards Calvin’s medical expenses, rehabilitation programs, and other essential resources that will help him as he battles DIPG.
Every moment counts, with your help it will provide time so that his family can be there every step of the way, creating moments of joy and laughter and memories they can cherish forever.
We appreciate you sharing our GoFundMe campaign with your network to increase our reach and amplify the impact of your support to help.
