Our beloved boy Calvin devoloped a sudden, completly unexpected back injury and went from 100% mobile to paraplegic in a matter of hours. He was rushed to spinal surgery and that surgury was $12,000.

We have pet insurance up to $5000 but are still waiting for the decision of whether this qualifies as an accident or is considered a pre-existing condition.

In the meantime, I maxxed out CareCredit and other resources to complete the procedure. The procedure went very well and he is expected to make a complete or near complete recovery over the course of the next two months.

As with many people in these difficult times, an unexpected $12k expense is a massive blow to already delicate finances. I am also concerned that we have no buffer zone fincially at the moment in case any complications arise.
