Hi everyone,

Meet Cali — my bestie and, technically, my niece, though she’s so much more than that to me.

Cali was recently diagnosed with retinoblastoma, a rare form of eye cancer that primarily affects children under the age of 5. Thankfully, because she’s only one, her prognosis is positive. So far, she’s undergone systemic (general) chemotherapy, intra-arterial chemotherapy (delivered directly to the back of her eye), and a series of scans and tests.

Next up for Cali is the removal of her eye, due to the cancer impacting the optic nerve. There will be further treatment depending on what doctors find.

As you can imagine, the financial burden on my sister and brother-in-law has been heavy. We’re hoping to ease some of that strain, and any support — whether it's a donation, sharing this with others, or simply keeping Cali in your thoughts — means the world to us.
