Hello, my name is Caleb, and this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write.
I’m a single father raising my daughter full-time and caring for my son on rotating weekends. I’ve always worked hard to provide for my kids and handle everything on my own, which is why asking for help publicly is something I never imagined I would have to do.
At the end of 2025, after working for an HVAC company for over two years as a dispatcher, I accepted what I believed was a better career opportunity with another company. I truly thought it would help create a stronger future for my children and open doors for more stability and growth.
Unfortunately, things did not turn out the way I was led to believe. After only four months, I was unexpectedly let go because the company decided they were not ready for the position they hired me for. Since then, I have been applying everywhere possible and doing everything I can to get back on my feet.
As a single parent responsible for every bill on my own, my options have been limited. I lowered my expectations and applied for positions far below my previous pay range just to keep my family afloat. After weeks of searching, interviews, and uncertainty, I finally received a job offer. I am incredibly grateful for that opportunity, but my start date is not until 5/18.
My rent was due on 5/1, and for the first time in my life, I have fallen behind. I am currently one month late and have received an eviction notice stating the balance must be paid by the 16th.
I do have part of the rent already, but I cannot cover the full amount in time on my own. I am not asking for luxury, comfort, or anything extra. I simply want to keep a roof over my children’s heads while I make it to my first paycheck and get stable again.
If you are able to help in any way — whether through a donation or simply sharing this fundraiser — it would mean more to my family than I can put into words. Every single contribution helps us get closer to staying in our home during this difficult transition.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any support you may be able to give. I fully intend to pay forward the kindness shown to my family once I am back on stable ground.
