Support Caleb's Critical Recovery Journey

Caleb and three of his friends were involved in a horrific car accident early Sunday morning. Tragically, all four were flown from the scene with severe traumatic injuries and are currently in critical condition. To help Caleb combat the long and difficult recovery ahead, which will involve numerous medical expenses, family transportation, meals, and future appointments, we are reaching out for financial assistance.

Caleb sustained multiple system trauma injuries, including an open left femur fracture, multiple fractures in his right ankle, bilateral orbit fractures, multiple nasal and sinus fractures, twelve rib fractures, bilateral lung contusions and pneumothoraxes (punctured lungs), a vascular injury (luminal dissection) to his right vertebral (neck) artery, hemorrhage and air in the frontal cortex near his brain due to the multiple facial, sinus, and nasal fractures.

To date, the left femur fracture has undergone surgical intervention, with a rod and screws placed to stabilize the entire upper leg. Caleb received a blood transfusion today and will undergo surgical intervention tomorrow to repair the multiple broken bones in his right ankle. Additionally, his pneumothorax is not resolving on its own, and there is a possibility of chest tube placement to treat it. The multiple facial, sinus, and nasal fractures require surgical intervention, but the specific surgical procedures and time are yet to be determined.

Caleb is currently in need of financial assistance to cover the ongoing medical costs and expenses for the days ahead. Any assistance provided will be greatly appreciated by him and his family as they navigate this costly journey.

Despite the positive outcome of Caleb’s successful open left femur fracture surgery, his extensive medical recovery journey has just begun. While he has made initial progress, further surgical interventions are necessary to address other injuries sustained during the accident.
