My father, Caleb Rhodes, is such an amazingly kind, strong, and caring husband and father of 2. When something goes awry, he never fails to put everything down and be the first to help.

On Thursday night at around 10:10 pm, my father got into a car accident on his way to his night shift at Safeway. As far as we know, it was a T-bone crash with another driver that spun out and ended in an impact with the median. He experienced 4 vertebrae breaks in his spine and 2 hematomas on both sides of his spinal cord, meaning when he reached Harborview Hospital, he experienced a 5-hour surgery where the surgeons worked on stabilizing his back for a successful recovery. They drained the hematomas and put rods and screws into his back. The healing process will be long and very hard as Caleb heals his back and learns how to walk again through rehab following this time, but he is such a strong man; I am positive he will persevere.

He currently lives with my mom (Heidi Rhodes) and brother (Mason Rhodes) in an upstairs apartment that has no elevator, meaning we need to find a place pretty immediately so that he can safely enter his home and live in it comfortably. The car is also totaled from the accident, so we also need a new car. With the medical bills on top of all of those expenditures, it's really going to be a tight time financially.
