Support Caleb After the Tragic Loss of His Son

On Sunday, May 11, 2025, our family suffered an unimaginable loss. Zachery Blackburn, the 22-year-old son of my brother Caleb Blackburn, died by suicide after a long and painful battle with mental illness and chronic physical conditions.

Zach was a bright, gifted soul. He was deeply creative, especially in music—his talent and passion touched everyone who had the chance to hear him play. He leaves behind a grieving family, including two younger siblings who are heartbroken to lose their big brother.

Zach was the oldest of Caleb’s three children. He lost his mother, Shannon, in 2010 when he was only seven years old. His life was marked by deep sorrow, but also by deep love. And now, Caleb—an Iraq war veteran—is doing all he can to honor his son while supporting his family through this heartbreaking time.

Unfortunately, Caleb does not have the funds to cover Zach’s funeral costs. His car also needs repairs so he can attend the service and manage basic responsibilities in the weeks ahead. He’s doing his best to stay strong for his family, but he needs help.

All donations will go directly toward burial expenses, car repairs, and helping Caleb get back on his feet as he begins to navigate life after this devastating loss.
