My name is Bea McDaniel and I started this fundraiser to be able to get help for my daughter Caitlyn Hott. She was diagnosed with Neuro Behcet's syndrome and intracranial hypertension, both of which are rare diseases and have not been under control in a very long time.

Caitlyn is a 4th year medical student and had to put her studies on hold for now. With that said, she has no income and only Colorado Medicaid for insurance. We would like to take her to either the Mayo or Cleveland Clinic for further treatment.

At the moment, we spend at least one day a week in the emergency department for pain or infections. Caitlyn has a very low immune system, gets frequent infections, and wounds do not heal well. She also has very high fluid levels on her brain which are not draining well and cause constant extreme headaches. They are in the process of placing a shunt in her brain to drain this excess fluid, and hopefully, this will help with the headaches. Her autoimmune disease, Behcet's, is another story. It’s rare, and a lot of doctors don’t know what it is or how to treat it.

That is the reason she would like to go to a clinic with more expertise in the field.
