Support Cait & Reggie's Life-Changing Surgery

My name is Cait. If you've met me in the past 3 years, you have probably also met my best friend, Reggie. Reggie is the most loving, funny, sweet, and emotional dog you will ever meet! He loves to cuddle, be in the sun, play tag, and sit on people's laps! Reggie entered my life when he was a puppy and permanently changed it for the best. Things were instantly all about him and providing the best and happiest life for him that I can. In turn, he fuels me each day with endless love, joy, and laughs! Part of Reggie's life is coming to Create Me as our pottery pup every day. At the studio, he always makes sure to personally greet each person that enters with excitement and joy to see a new face. When someone is having a bad day and needs a little extra love, he chooses them to sit with for their time there.

Reggie just turned 3 years old in March. He is a French Bulldog. Many of us love his little snorts and snores, but they are indicators of a larger problem. Last week, Reggie was diagnosed with Brachycephalic Airway Syndrome. This is common in French Bulldogs as they have been bred through the years selectively to create the smushed faces that we see. Along with that breeding comes a variety of issues. Even though Reggie's bone structure is shorter, he still has the same amount of skin and soft tissue. This has resulted in narrow air passages. Living with this issue and straining to breathe over time can lead to laryngeal collapse of his throat. Reggie is scheduled to undergo a complicated procedure on Tuesday, 5/27/25. This surgery will have 3 major components: widening his nares to allow more airflow into his respiratory system, shortening the soft palate to remove obstructions, and removal of the laryngeal saccules to open his throat. This surgery will improve Reggie's quality of life through being able to breathe properly, return his appetite, give him increased energy as he will no longer be dealing with sleep apnea, and he will finally be able to lay in the sun without getting overheated.

Reggie is a healer, and I would give anything to help him live comfortably for as long as possible. The total price of his surgery is $8673 (with no complications). I have applied all of my savings towards his surgery cost but have still come up a bit short. I am determined to make sure he gets this surgery to take away the discomfort he lives in each day, but I have realized this is a time in which I need to ask for help from all of the other souls that love Reggie too.
