From Allyson, Cait’s mom:
On the evening of July 19th, around 6:15PM, my daughter Cait (age 27) and my grandson son Ollie (age 6) were in their apartment in bed watching TV together. Brian Medley (age 60) kicked in the front door and unloaded his gun on Cait striking her five times. Ollie was spared any physical trauma. Three bullets struck Cait in the chest, one hit her in the arm, shattering her Humerus Bone. One bullet hit her in the back, hitting and passing through the middle of her liver. By God's Grace, her heart and lungs were missed. She was life flighted to USA Trauma Center in Mobile. She has been through two surgeries already, to repair where her liver was damaged by a bullet and currently in surgery to repair her arm. She has several more surgeries in her near future. Currently, all of the bullets are still in her body. The doctors are working one issue at a time in order of severity. Cait is tough and her will to survive for her son is very strong. She will pull through this. I have faith in her ability to fight. Please keep Cait and poor little Ollie in your prayers. Ollie saw everything and begged the shooter for his mother’s life as she was pushing him under the bed shielding him from the gunfire. I can't imagine what he’s going to be dealing with emotionally. He's suffered a trauma no child should ever see or experience. Please say an extra prayer for Cait. She has a very long road to recovery.
******************************
Cait is a strong, enduring and spirited young woman and a single mother working three jobs to provide for her son. Medical and daily living expenses continue to accumulate and will continue for an unknown period of healing time. She is expected to need around the clock care for four to five months. Please help us lift the financial burden of these many expenses and allow Cait's focus to be solely on her recovery and rehabilitation by sharing your kindness and humanity for this sweet family in any form of donation. No matter how small, every donation makes an incredible difference and will be received with great appreciation. God Bless You All.
