Thank you for taking the time to read my sweet baby boy’s story! Cairoh Creed is my son who is an extremely happy 7-month-old who was recently diagnosed with Waardenburg Syndrome. He is deaf/HOH and has other symptoms due to his syndrome including Hirschsprung Disease, Vertigo, and joint stability issues. We have been going to Seattle Children’s hospital twice a month to monitor his symptoms, blood work, and testing.
I, his mom, am a single mother to two children (his 6-year-old sister) and am the only provider (financially and emotionally) to both children. It’s extremely hard for me to open up about this and ask for help. I am finally sharing our story after our most recent visit and test results came back.
Our future with Cairoh insists on many more visits, treatments, testing, and surgeries which is already nearly impossible for me to maintain with trying to work to financially support us. Over the last 7 months, I have had to take several days off of work which caused me to lose two different jobs so now I rely on my income as a hairstylist but I still cannot work as much as necessary due to his visits and special needs. His surgeries will mean that I will be having to take multiple days off to care for him, the gas to get there and back, and the stays to ensure he is as healthy as can be. My family appreciates ANY assistance during this time.
