Caiden recently went to the doctor with what started as strep throat and increasingly worsened throughout the week. He ended up in the hospital with concerningly high kidney labs. Originally suspected to be kidney failure, the biopsy and labs weren’t matching up. After the discovery of a blood clot in his leg, they detected cancer surrounding his bladder when looking deeper. Caiden is a 16 year old who loves being outside, playing video games, and making his friends and family laugh. This diagnosis has quickly turned his and the family’s life upside down. His mom, Katie will need to be taking an extended leave of absence from work to assist in getting Caiden to and from treatments or possibly surgery, which leaves only Corey, his dad being able to financially provide for their family of 5.
